The Air District’s draft 2017 Clean Air Plan (PDF) is currently available for review. The plan serves as a call to action to “Spare the Air and Cool the Climate.” The Air District’s stated aim is “to lead the region to a post-carbon economy, to continue progress toward attaining all state and federal air quality standards, and to eliminate health risk disparities from exposure to air pollution among Bay Area communities.”
Although the draft plan does not directly address our campaign for refinery emissions limits, it does appear to lay out a strategy for moving to a low-carbon economy. Comments can be sent to email@example.com through February 28th. A schedule of public hearings can be found at their Clean Air Plan web page. More detailed programs for each working area of BAAQMD—stationary sources, agriculture, buildings, etc.—can also be found at this web page.
