Join the Break Free From Plastic (BFFP) movement in a national event to demonstrate the urgent need to address the crisis of environmental racism, the destruction of natural resources, and the climate crisis.
Frontline groups and allied organizations around the country will be rising up on October 26 and sharing their actions live on YouTube. Join this event to learn directly from those living next to massive petrochemical facilities, pipelines, and extraction sites.
Members of the Biden administration and climate justice advocates alike are invited to listen and learn what’s really happening in sacrifice zones from Louisiana to Appalachia and beyond. Communities impacted by the petrochemical industry are suffering right now. The Biden Administration can take action to help people right now.
The problem with plastic goes deeper than pollution clogging up our oceans and waterways. The upstream impacts of plastic production are sickening frontline communities that have faced environmental racism for decades, if not centuries. These petrochemical facilities are also further exacerbating the climate crisis, obstructing any potential to mitigate global temperature and sea level rise.
We need to stop petrochemical expansion NOW.
Join the event, and in the meantime, sign the petition asking President Biden to immediately halt approvals for new and expanded fossil-fueled petrochemical projects, including cracker plants, and create a pathway for fenceline communities to participate in reforming existing emission regulations for existing infrastructure with a standard of safety.
