Community Air Protection & AB 617 Implementation, Oct 17

October 13, 2017

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites community participation in an informational Oakland meeting on development of the new Community Air Protection Program.  This new program is mandated by AB 617, the companion bill to the recently passed cap-and-trade extension.  Its focus is on reducing exposure in those neighborhoods most impacted by air pollution.  Over the next few years, CARB staff will be working closely with local air districts, community groups, community members, environmental organizations, and regulated industries to reduce harmful air emissions and create this new framework for community protection.

The meeting will provide community members and stakeholders with an opportunity for discussion as CARB begins the implementation and development process.   It will include a short presentation followed by group discussion of key elements of the program.  The agenda and presentation will be posted on CARB’s website.  Agenda and handouts for the presentation will also be available in Spanish.

WHEN

Tuesday, October 17, 6-8 PM

WHERE

Elihu Harris Building
1515 Clay Street, Room 11
