There’s no guarantee that Contra Costa Community Choice Energy is a slam dunk, even though 16 Contra Costa Cities have passed resolutions in favor of a feasibility study. All Contra Costa County residents able to attend the Tuesday, March 15 Board of Supervisors meeting need to show up and testify on behalf of Option 1, the allocation of funds for a full feasibility study for Community Choice Energy in Contra Costa.
Plan to speak up at the full Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, March 15. (See below for location.)
Suggested arrival time is 10:30 am. Community Choice Energy is Item D5 on the agenda.
Please speak in favor of Option 1, the Full Tech Study. It is the only choice that will
- include the 16 cities who indicated interest in a Tech Study, thereby reducing more than 5 times the greenhouse gas emissions than a CCE for only the unincorporated areas (options 2 and 3),
- measure the potential for Contra Costa to become a green energy hub with local renewable energy development and green jobs, and
- enable citizens who have concerns not discussed at most city council CCE meetings—greenhouse gas emissions, environmental justice, and the health impacts of carbon pollution—to join the Tech Advisory Committee.
Please RSVP to Carol Weed, Contra Costa Clean Energy Alliance at email, or phone (510) 409-4055. Text during meeting, if needed.
