Rebecca Kaplan is currently running for re-election as the At Large City Council member in Oakland. She is facing four opponents, one of them supported by the mayor.
Kaplan recently joined the Bay Area Air Quality Management Board and has already been a strong advocate for the caps on refinery emissions that we need to prevent local refineries from processing tar sands. She was also a staunch ally in the successful campaign to persuade the Oakland City Council to ban coal at the Oakland Army Base development.
We need Rebecca Kaplan to remain on the BAAQMD Board, which means she must win this election.
Margaret Rossoff will be hosting a house party to support Rebecca’s campaign. She will be available to discuss her positions and answer questions. Campaign literature will be provided, along with snacks and beverages.
