Join the Bay Area People’s Climate Movement in a General Assembly to help plan and build the April 29 national day of climate action — and related events.
Working groups have been created to work on:
A climate event at Lake Merritt on April 28, including a program with music, spoken word, speakers, and more at the amphitheater, while in areas around the lake, people can engage in activities and discussions and connect with local climate organizations.
A Community Environmental Justice Town Hall Forum in West Oakland sometime in the week or ten days before April 29. Elected officials have been invited to hear the concerns of community members
An Environmental Justice Contingent in the Oakland May Day rally and march in solidarity with immigrants, workers, and people facing Islamophobia, racism, nativism, sexism, and homophobia. Rally at 3 pm at Fruitvale Plaza, then march to San Antonio Park. Action against banks funding the Dakota Access Pipeline is being considered.
In addition, the People’s Climate Movement-Bay Area will support the March for Science on Earth Day in San Francisco.
If you want to work with any of these work groups or help with logistics, security, communications, outreach or in any other way, please come to this important General Assembly. Bring your ideas, your enthusiasm, and your friends.
