Come to the international conference of the Moving Forward Network, an organization that works nationally and internationally to reduce the harm caused by our system of freight transportation — both to our climate and to vulnerable communities. This year’s international conference is right down the road in Los Angeles.
The 4th International Moving Forward Network Conference is an educational conference that will provide data, insights and shared practices to create effective policies and strategies for communities impacted by ports, rail yards, intermodal facilities, distribution centers, trucking routes and other goods movement expansion activities.
The conference goals are to:
➢Build capacity for community organizations to learn best strategies in community organizing.
➢Showcase zero emissions technology available now to provide relief to impacted communities.
➢Share research findings from scientific studies on the health effects of air pollution on public health, air quality and climate change.
➢Facilitate collaboration and networking among regional, national and international networks of community groups and researchers to link ports/freight work with climate justice and equitable development goals and address the community, health, and environmental impacts from global trade and goods movement.
The conference is free and financial help for transportation is available.
