The hearing on the Delta Tunnels that we previously posted has been postponed. We announced in this space that the California Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee would hold a hearing on Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed Delta tunnels in Tues., Feb. 28
The committee’s revised schedule shows that the topic of that hearing has been changed. It will now focus on the recent crisis on the Oroville Dam.
We will post another notice when the committee holds a hearing on the Delta tunnels, since this issue is absolutely critical to the health of California’s people, wildlife, and environment.
Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed tunnels would take fresh water out of the Delta to ship to agribusiness in the Central Valley. This project would further degrade water quality in the Delta, a key part of the ecology of the whole west coast. It would endanger drinking water, local farms, public health, fish, and wildlife. Restore the Delta is trying to fill the seats and the halls of the Capitol with the voices of friends of the San Francisco Bay-Delta. We need as many people as possible to make a powerful statement with our Californian legislators.
Public comments are usually limited to 2 minutes. Please prepare your comment accordingly.
