Help advance the campaign to stop Formosa Plastics from building a major plastics production plant in Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley.” The campaign to Stop Formosa Plastics won a recent victory when the US Army Corps of Engineers announced that it will require Formosa Plastics to undergo a thorough Environmental Impact Statement before proceeding with the projects.
This victory was only possible after years of grassroots organizing by local residents of St. James Parish, especially RISE St. James. However, this new development doesn’t mean the project is dead.
The next step is to mobilize pressure on major Wall Street financial institutions to make SURE that this project is dead for good. Find out how you can help at this live webinar, “Stop the Money Pipeline and Defund Formosa.”
Join the webinar to learn the history of environmental racism in the Gulf and the story of struggles from RISE St James and other Black-led community orgs on the frontlines. And take action on the banks and financial institutions that stand ready to profit from more environmental racism unless the Formosa Plastics project is stopped.
