Plans to support workers and communities in the transition away from fossil fuels must be rooted in our needs and aspirations. Bring your concerns and get your questions answered!
Special guests Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia and Mike Sponsler, District Director for Assemblyman Tim Grayson, will headline our April meeting to present the latest developments in just transition–related legislation.
Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) and Tim Grayson (AD-14) recently introduced ground-breaking bills that provide processes and resources for a just transition from fossil fuels. Grayson’s legislation, AB-844, establishes a Green Empowerment Zone for the Northern Waterfront area of Contra Costa and Solano Counties. DeSaulnier’s recently announced Energy Transition Model consists of three bills created after two years’ consultation with local elected officials, community activists, industry and labor.
Learn about these bills and what they could mean for workers and your community. Please come with suggestions, questions and your grassroots enthusiasm. Good things are definitely in motion!
