Contra Costa County is home to four oil refineries, two power plants, and vast brownfield acreage—the legacy of years of industrial pollution. Over the next two years, the county will be updating its General Plan, Zoning Code, and Climate Action Plan in a project called Envision Contra Costa 2040. Together they will address transportation, housing, climate change, environmental justice, and other important issues facing the county over the next 20 years.
Regular public hearings on these revisions, including this Planning Commission meeting on July 10th, present an opportunity for county residents and climate justice activists to provide input and connect directly to County decision-makers.
