Bannering the Bay Area, Sept. 21, 2014

Banners displayed throughout the Bay AreaOn September 21, 2014, a day of climate action demonstrations around the world, a regiment of stalwart volunteers fanned out to display banners at highway overpasses, heavily-trafficked avenues and shopping malls.

Thanks for the success of this action go out to many people—too many to mention here. But special recognition must be accorded to Katy Polony, who conceived the plan. Anne Donjacour, David Solnit, Sara Greenwald, and Martin Mackerel also deserve thanks for art production, and the wrangling of the troops.

Don’t Mourn, Organize!

The Sunflower Alliance is committed to environmental and climate justice and the health and safety of all San Francisco Bay Area communities threatened by toxic pollution and climate disruption.
