The community made it clear: We do not want nuclear energy in our electricity mix. So now East Bay Community Energy has come up with another crazy idea: accept nuclear energy from PG&E and sell it to another electricity agency!
Join the Local Clean Energy Alliance to speak up at the next EBCE board meeting to tell them NO! We do not want IN ANY WAY to enable continuation of the dangerous and toxic Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant — even if we can make a little money doing it.
The agenda for the board meeting includes this item in language that tries to make it sound harmless: “discuss options for monetizing the nuclear generation” under the heading “carbon-free allocation.” But it still means giving PG&E an excuse to keep Diablo Canyon going.
