Help the mutual aid organization Common Humanity Collective provide air purifiers designed to remove the smallest, most harmful smoke particles and distribute them to communities with the worst air quality and asthma rates in the Bay Area.
Recipients of these air purifiers are generally unable to afford commercial ones, making these builds a crucial means of protection from harmful pollutants for many people.
Common Humanity Collective has designed an “inexpensive, highly effective DIY air purifier.” The group hosts “community builds” of these air purifiers in parking lots in communities with the worst air quality, and gives these out to community residents, encouraging people to “join the builds, assume ownership of the production process.” So far they’ve distributed more than 1,400 air purifiers.
