We need to increase the use of public transportation — but how will people get to the bus stop or transit station? Planners call this the first mile/last mile problem and it’s crucial to our climate and environmental future.
The City of Richmond invites you to a workshop to share ideas for a strategic plan to address the first mile/last mile problem. Even if you don’t live in Richmond, this is a chance to hear ideas and share your own about this important issue.
The City is studying ways to enhance mobility within the community, and between Richmond and everyday destinations throughout the region. The study will identify ways to improve access to transit and connectivity across all types of travel. The outcome will be the First Mile/Last Mile Transportation Strategic Plan to focus transportation investments where they can have the biggest and most lasting impact.
