Investing in Workers for a World Beyond Fossil Fuel, April 27

April 14, 2022

A union-based movement for a just transition from fossil fuels has been growing in California.  This is an opportunity to hear from people whose leadership has been central to that movement.

Dr. Robert Pollin, of the Political Economy Research Institute of the University of Massachusetts, has written extensively about just transition and is the lead author of the 2021 union-sponsored Program for Economic Recovery and Clean Energy Transition in California. endorsed by 19 labor organizations. The report is now the basis of a labor-based California just transition campaign for a California Climate Jobs Plan.

Veronica Wilson leads the work of the Labor Network for Sustainability in California. She supports unions across the state that are strengthening the labor-climate movement and advocating for an equitable transition for workers and communities.

This webinar is the fourth in The Climate Center’s Investing in Climate Action for Jobs, Health, and Equity webinar series.
