Join people all over the world telling banks to divest from fossil fuels and respect indigenous people’s rights, as 92 of the world’s biggest banks meet in Sao Paolo, Brazil. We have to keep up the pressure because it works: last week French bank BNP Paribas announced it would drastically cut funding for fossil fuel pipelines and fracking in North America, including KXL and TransCanada pipelines.
The banks are meeting to discuss policies on the climate and Indigenous People’s rights to Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC). These banks include Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) financiers such as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, J.P. Morgan Chase, and many more.
