Fossil Free California is partnering with Movement Generation for its next monthly community forum, a dynamic interactive workshop featuring Movement Generation’s Mateo Nube.
The event organizers write: “A Just Transition requires us to build a visionary economy for life, in a way that is very different from the economy we are in now. Constructing a visionary economy for life calls for strategies that democratize, decentralize, and diversify economic activity, while reducing consumption and (re)distributing resources and power. In this dynamic workshop, we will study and discuss a roadmap that moves us out of an Extractive Economy and into Local, Living, Loving, Linked Economies.”
Featured speaker, Mateo Nube, is one of the co-founders of the Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project, and the national co-chair of the Climate Justice Alliance’s Steering Committee. He was born and grew up in La Paz, Bolivia. Since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, he has worked in the labor, environmental justice and international solidarity movements.
