Local Clean Energy Alliance Game Night, October 23

October 15, 2020

Join the Local Clean Energy Alliance for its annual fall gathering — this year online. Without  the food but it’ll still be lots of fun — an Energy Jeopardy Game, a flower power demonstration, and more! Treat yourself to two hours of fun without any mention of pandemic, wildfires or the election!

Celebrate two victories in the past year:

#1: In February,LCEA launched the Reclaim Our Power Utility Justice Campaign, a frontline community-led movement to restructure California’s energy system. Despite the pandemic, the Campaign fought the bailout of PG&E, and pushed for a utility based on principles of justice. In spring and summer, the Campaign organized actions in front of both PG&E and CPUC headquarters, protested PG&E’s bankruptcy exit plans, and held online press conferences to call for utility justice.

#2: LCEA mobilized the community to stop the dumping of PG&E nuclear power in the East Bay. On the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, in April, the governing board of East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), the public energy services provider for Alameda County cities, voted to keep Diablo Canyon nuclear power out of EBCE’s 2020 energy mix. The vote represented a big victory against a campaign of misinformation by EBCE staff and a reaffirmation of our communities’ need to develop local renewable energy to benefit our residents and businesses.

Celebrate, learn more, and get involved!

And, as always, LCEA will be asking for your financial support to continue this work.
