The new Charge! Program is about to make driving an electric vehicle in the Bay Area a lot easier and less nerve-wracking. Get an advance look at this new initiative by the The Bay Area Air Quality Management District, which will provide grant funding to offset the cost of purchasing and installing new publicly accessible chargers for light-duty electric vehicles, or EVs, at multi-unit dwelling facilities, workplaces, destinations, transit parking locations, and along transportation corridors within the Bay Area.
A total of $7 million in grant funding is expected to be available for organizations, including governments, businesses, and nonprofits. In this pre-application webinar, the Air District will provide provide information on how to apply for the 2022 Charge! Program as well as answer questions from participants. The application period will close on March 1, 2022.
The 2022 Charge! Program cycle will be a competitive solicitation and all complete applications will be scored and ranked. The Air District will prioritize projects that install EV charging at multi-unit dwellings, and projects located in Bay Area Environmental Justice communities.
The Charge! Program web page will be updated with full program requirements, program guidance, an interested parties list, and additional information when the application period opens. All questions must be received by email. Questions and responses will be published to the Charge! Program web page. Questions will be accepted on a rolling basis until February 15, 2021.
