The regional electricity grid proposed in Assembly Bill 813 will put California under the control of Trump’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The campaign to Oppose AB 813 – Expansion of CAISO is now in its final stages. Everyone’s help is needed to defeat this damaging and unnecessary measure. Please join us in taking acting ASAP.
The next key vote on AB 813 is expected any day now. Use this convenient site to send a letter to your State Senator.
On Aug 14, join a rally in Sacramento organized by Food and Water Watch to oppose AB 813. This bill would change the governance of our regional electricity organization by uniting California with the western coal states. Rather than controlling our own clean energy policy, California would become a minority voice in a FERC-jurisdictional multi-state entity. Once we join, there’s no going back.
To learn more about why we oppose AB813 Regionalization of the Grid, watch the video, “AB813: Should We risk Another Enron?” featuring Loretta Lynch, former President of the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
