East Bay Community Energy’s Local Development Business Plan is a road map for Alameda County’s new Community Choice energy agency to create a truly community-focused, equitable energy system. Our community has fought for and won a public energy agency—East Bay Community Energy, or EBCE—as an alternative to PG&E. Access to local, clean energy, like housing and healthcare, is a right, a resource we need to empower our communities. We need to push our elected officials to resist business as usual and use the full potential of this public energy agency to implement the Local Development Business Plan. This innovative plan is key to developing local clean energy resources that benefit our communities.
Join us on March 21st to tell the Board of Directors of East Bay Community Energy to support the Local Development Business Plan. Read more about why this matters.
Individuals and organizational representatives are urgently needed to speak in support of the development of local clean energy resources in the East Bay. Board members need to hear how their agency can best create local clean energy jobs, economic stimulation, stable rates for electricity, and much more. Please RSVP here.
The Local Development Business Plan is scheduled to be completed in April 2018. We need to show EBCE board and staff how critical it is to make decisions based on this plan to bring real benefits to residents. The board and staff have already allocated large savings for commercial businesses; we need to speak up for our families in Alameda County to build the program we need.
Join us on March 21st to advocate for the plan! To prepare, you can attend the March 15th meeting of the East Bay Clean Power Alliance (EBCPA). They will be offering background and reviewing talking points you can use. That prep meeting is on Thursday, March 15 at 1:30-3:30PM, 339 15th St., Suite 208 (near Webster St), in Oakland (off 12th Street Oakland BART).
Please RSVP here if you want to speak at the March 21st Board meeting. Be sure to bring your organizational banners, t-shirts or wear a Clean Power to the People t-shirt!
