#Stop Formosa Plastics, February 9

February 7, 2021

Join a day of action to stop Formosa Plastics from building a mega-polluting petrochemical plant in St. James Parish, Louisiana. We are at a pivotal moment in this fight!

The power of the people, the leadership of RISE St. James, and robust legal opposition have delayed construction of the proposed plastics plant. President Biden can stop Formosa Plastics once and for all and hold true to his commitment to prioritize environmental justice.

Urge President Biden and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to revoke Formosa’s federal permit.

How to support:

  1. Solidarity: uplift the banner actions happening on Tues. 2/9 in St. James, New Orleans, D.C. and San Francisco. See this doc for messaging guidance and photos of the actions.
  2. Social media: participate in the day of action by taking a photo of yourself holding a sign that says “President Biden, Lead on Environmental Justice #StopFormosaPlastics” and post on social media.
  3. Drive comments: help us reach our goal of 15,000 comments to the Army Corps demanding Formosa’s federal permit be revoked.   Comment drive toolkit — including address and sample email — here.
