Green New Deal Valentines Special! February 14

January 30, 2021

We love the Green New Deal—so much that we’re devoting a whole meeting to it on Valentine’s Day! What’s happened so far? Where are we now, and what strategies will help us move forward?

Five local activists will tell us how they’re envisioning and advocating for a federal, statewide and regional Green New Deal:
• Wietske Medema and Mark Van Landuyt, co-authors of the Bay Area Green New Deal;

• Sylvia Chi, Policy Director for Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN) and a convener of the Coalition for a California Green New Deal;

•Ernie Pacheco, Communications Workers of America (CWA), District 9;

•Maria Esteves of Sunrise.

Before the meeting, check out the California Green New Deal Coalition platform

Feel free to email us in advance with any questions you’d like discussed.  Just reach out to action@sunflower-alliance.org.

Our Mission: Don’t Mourn, Organize!

The Sunflower Alliance consists of grassroots individuals and organizations committed to environmental justice and the health and safety of  San Francisco Bay Area communities threatened by toxic pollution and climate disruption.  We’re an all-volunteer group helping to build an equitable and regenerative economy—fueled by renewable energy, love of Mother Earth, and the vigorous pursuit of justice.  Let’s go!
