Our meeting will feature a special presentation on two local Just Transition initiatives: refinery decommissioning and industrial risk bonds. How can bonding mechanisms be used to prevent refineries and other polluters from walking away from their messes after they shut down? Hear from two Richmond experts who are working on these issues.
Reports on the latest developments in the work we’re doing are included in the agenda, which will be available when you RSVP. We are responding to refinery biodiesel plans; keeping up the fight to ban new oil and gas wells in eastern Contra Costa County; involved in campaigns against coal exports in Richmond and Oakland; pushing our local Air District to reduce refinery pollution; and participating in regional climate planning.
We need your participation and your voice, too. Come join us!
